- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to assess common presenting tennis injuries with regard to age of the tennis player. A questionnaire was designed and first piloted on 15 subjects at a local tennis club, 100 subjects were intended for the study, but only 75 questionnaires were answered that were suitable for analysis. The questionnaire found that elbow injuries were the most common area of the body injured. Age did have a significance on type of injury, with older age groups suffering more from overuse injuries. Younger players suffered more from ankle and wrist injuries, with strains and sprains being the most common types of injury in this age group.
