- Abstract
- Through an experimental study in a senior residence in Paris, we suggest tovalue the usefulness of the Chapman’s therapy. The technique has been used on 8 intestinal points and has been tested on 20patients between 80 and 100 years, who had chronic constipation and laxative dailytreatment. The experience has been realized for one month with a procedure describe asfollow: Three sessions per week for the first two weeks and one session per week forthe last 2 weeks.Through this manual therapy, we expect stimulate the natural intestinalfunction in order to reach a spontaneous defecation to reduce constipation, takingless laxatives and not suffer of all collateral effects. By this way and thoughosteopathy, we expect improve life quality of those senior patients. After getting all reactions regarding this technique to all patients subject tothis experience, we obtain a high positive result as 91,9% of them has been satisfiedthe day we used Chapman’s therapy and 73,5% during inter session day.The effectiveness of Chapman’s techniques on this patient scope isindependent to age, sex, BMI, dementia presence or not, the fact of taking drug or nohelping to not being constipated.
