- Since 1974, year in which the burnout syndrome was described, numerous studies onthat subject have been done, even though the Spanish osteopathic collective seem topresent a lack of information around it.In this work a descriptive observational transversal study has been done where a testwas send via e-mail to the 167 registered osteopaths of the Spanish Register ofOsteopaths (ROE) who live in Catalunya. Such test comprised 2 parts; the first weresocio-demographical and relating to work questions, as well as which are the morepracticed kind of techniques, and the second part was the validated test MaslachBurnout Inventory (MBI) to measure the burnout syndrome. Between the answered tests(n=86) the prevalence of the syndrome was analyzed and correlations between bothparts of the test were sought. Afterwards conclusion was drawn that the most of thestudied osteopaths doesn’t present the syndrome or have moderately syntoms with ahigher prevalence between men than women. As well, it has been seen that some of thesocio-demographical and relating to work features have a mild to moderate influence inthe results of the MBI, but are not determinant to the burnout level between the surveyrespondent.

- Desde 1974, año en que fue descrito el síndrome de burnout, se han realizadonumerosos estudios al respecto, pero existe un gran vacío de conocimiento acerca deeste síndrome en el colectivo de osteópatas españoles.En este trabajo se ha realizado un estudio descriptivo observacional transversal en elque se le ha enviado un test vía e-mail a los 167 osteópatas registrados en el Registro deOsteópatas de España (ROE) y que trabajan en Catalunya. El test constaba de dospartes; la primera eran preguntas socio-demográficas y laborales así como técnicasosteopáticas más practicadas, y la segunda era el test validado Maslach BurnoutInventory (MBI) para medir el síndrome de burnout. Entre los tests contestados (n=86)se ha analizado la prevalencia del síndrome y han buscado las correlaciones entre lasdos partes del test. Después de ello se concluye que la mayoría de población en estudiono presenta síndrome o lo hace de forma moderada, siendo más presente en hombresque en mujeres. También se ha constatado que algunas variables socio-demográficas ylaborales tienen una influencia leve o moderada en los resultados del MBI, pero noafectan de forma determinante en el nivel de burnout de los encuestados.
