Hintergrund
Der Plagiozephalie
des Säuglings wird immer mehr Bedeutung zugemessen. Als Behandlungsmöglichkeit
nimmt neben der Osteopathie die Physiotherapie einen wichtigen Stellenwert ein.
Weiters ist ein deutlicher Zuwachs der Behandlung mit einer Kopforthese zu
beobachten.
Zielsetzung
Darstellung
der aktuellen Befundungs- und Behandlungsprozesse, sowie die Wirksamkeit von
Therapiekombinationen durch Experteninterviews der osteopathischen und
konventionellen Medizin.
Methodik
Durch
Experteninterviews soll einen Einblick über die aktuellen Befundungs- und
Behandlungsmöglichkeiten und die Wirkung von interdisziplinären
Therapiesettings gewonnen werden. Dafür wurden je fünf Experten/innen aus der
Osteopathie und aus der konventionellen Medizin befragt. Die Auswertung
erfolgte mittels zusammenfassender Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring.
Ergebnisse
Die
osteopathische Befundung und Behandlung entspricht dem ganzheitlichen Ansatz
und ist dem Säugling angepasst. In der konventionellen Medizin gliedert sich
die Befundung in einen Sichtbefund, eine Palpation und anthropometrische
Messungen. Die Elternanleitung zum richtigen Handling und Lagern sowie die
Physiotherapie nehmen einen hohen Stellenwert ein. Eine wachstumslenkende
Kopforthese wird bei schweren Fällen zur Behandlung eingesetzt. Dauer und Art
der Behandlung richten sich nach der Ausprägung des Krankheitsbildes. Aufgrund der
Experteninterviews wird abgeleitet, dass eine Kombination von Therapieformen zu
einem deutlichen bzw. schnelleren Ergebnis führt.
Konklusion
Die
osteopathische Intervention ist neben dem Handling, der Lagerung, der
Physiotherapie und der wachstumslenkenden Kopforthese eine gute
Behandlungsmöglichkeit. Eine frühe Diagnose mit einer intensiven Elternaufklärung
ist für die Experten/innen besonders wichtig. Um ein gutes Behandlungsergebnis
zu erhalten, ist ein früher Behandlungsbeginn und eine Kombination von
Therapieformen zu empfehlen.

ABSTRACT
Background
Plagiocephaly of the infant’s skull is gaining more and more in
importance. Common treatment options are osteopathy and physiotherapy, while
additionally a distinct increase of helmet therapy can be observed.
Purpose
The depiction of current diagnosis and treatment processes as well as
the effectiveness of therapy combinations with the help of interviews with
osteopathy experts and experts in the field of conventional medicine.
Method
Expert interviews should help to provide an insight in the current diagnosis
and treatment process and the effectiveness of an interdisciplinary therapy
setting. The interview partners were five osteopathy experts and five experts
in the field of conventional medicine. The communication material was assessed
by use of the qualitative content analysis after Mayring.
Results
A holistic approach
and treatment is integral in osteopathy. The procedures are adjusted to infants
and incorporate structural, visceral and cranial levels. In conventional
medicine the instruction of parents, considering the right handling of the
infant, positioning and physiotherapy are of high significance. From a distinct
severity of plagiocephaly on, a growth influencing head orthesis is added to
the treatment. Duration and manner of treatment depend on the severity of the
disorder. Based on the expert interviews, the conclusion can be drawn, that a
combination of different forms of therapy leads to a faster respectively more
distinct result.
Conclusion
Osteopathic
interventions are, next to handling, positioning, physiotherapy and growth
influencing head orthesis a good treatment plan. An early diagnosis in
combination with intensive parent education are integral to the treatment process.
In order to achieve an adequate treatment result, an early treatment start and
a combination of different forms of therapy are recommended.
