Description

Lebensjahr bietet.

Abstract
Effectiveness of the osteopathic treatment of maldescensus testis in
children from 9 months to 6 years of age

Author: Ute
Roch

Objective:
The aim of this study is to identify a possible effectiveness of osteopathic
treatment of a Maldescensus testis in children from nine months to six years of
age.

Study design:
A randomized controlled trial was conducted with a sample size of n=26. A
binomial test was used to test the hypothesis that "osteopathic treatment
is more effective than hormone therapy (success rate p = 41%)".

Methods: In
this study, subjects were randomly divided into a treatment group (n=14) and a control
group (n=12). The treatment group received osteopathic treatments within three
weeks, while the control group received no treatment. The osteopathic treatment
is carried out according to a predefined diagnosis and treatment scheme.

Results: The
result of the exact Fisher Test (p =
0,000) show a strong significance in the comparison of the final results of the
two groups. With an error probability of 2.1%, the binomial test shows a
significant improvement in osteopathic treatment compared to hormone therapy

Discussion: The
result of the exact Fisher Test leads
to the assumption that there is a difference in the final examination between
the two groups. The binominal test showed that there were significant changes
in the course of a Maldescensus testis in infants in the treatment group. Although
validity is limited due to the small number of participants, current evidence
suggests that osteopathic treatment may provide an effective treatment approach
for testis maldescensus in children aged nine months to six years.
