Osteopathen/in und welche somatischen Dysfunktionen weisen sie auf? Gibt es
Zusammenhänge zwischen den Faktoren
Alter, Schwangerschaftswoche, Geburtsmodus, geburtshilflichen Interventionen,
Geburtenanzahl, Dammverletzungen und den Beschwerden sowie befundeten
somatischen Dysfunktionen? Die vorliegende Studie soll einen grundlegenden
Überblick darüber geben.

Design:
Fragebogenstudie

Methoden:
Mit kategorisierten Datenerhebungsblättern
wurden maternale Daten, Geburtsangaben, Beschwerden sowie somatische Dysfunktionen
post partum eruiert. 327 dieser dienten der vorliegenden Analyse.

Ergebnisse:
Die meisten Frauen kamen post partum wegen Rückenschmerzen
(61,8%), Becken-, Hüftproblemen (30,6%), dem Wunsch eines Check-ups (30,0%)
sowie Erschöpfung (15,3%) zum/zur Osteopathen/in. Am häufigsten wurden
somatische Dysfunktionen von BWS/Rippen (41%), Sacrum (40,29%), Beckenboden
(37,35%) und Diaphragma thoracale (33,82%) palpiert. Wahrscheinliche
statistisch signifikante Korrelationen sind zwischen Hämorrhoidalproblemen und
Wehenhemmern, Dammbeschwerden und -verletzungen, Becken-Dysfunktionen und medikamentöser
Geburtseinleitungen, Beckenboden-Dysfunktionen und Dammrissen bzw. Episiotomien
anzunehmen.

Konklusion: Der Überblick maternaler Beschwerden post
partum in osteopathischen Praxen entsprach partiell bekannten Studienergebnissen.
Gefundene somatische Dysfunktionen bekräftigen teils vorhandene osteopathische
Erklärungsmodelle. Aufgrund angewandter multipler Testung auf den Datensatz, lassen
Ergebnisse lediglich wahrscheinliche statistisch signifikante Zusammenhänge vermuten.
Die Auswertung spiegelt die Individualität der Frauen und deren spezifische
Kompensationsmechanismen post partum wieder.

Aim: What are the reasons and complaints of mothers
who consult an osteopath within 18 months postpartum, and which somatic
dysfunctions do they have? Do age, gestation week, modality of birth, obstetric
interventions, number of births, and perineum injuries correlate with the
patients' complaints and the identified somatic dysfunctions? The present study
intends to provide a basic overview.

Study design: Questionnaire survey

Methods: Categorized data collection sheets to collect
the mothers' data and specifications regarding delivery, complaints and somatic
dysfunctions postpartum. 327 were used for analysis.

Results: Most postpartum women consulted the osteopath
for back pain (61.8%), pelvic and hip problems (30.6%), a general check-up
(30.0%), or fatigue (15.3%). Somatic dysfunctions of the thoracic spine/ribs
(41%), sacrum (40.29%), pelvic floor (37.35%), and thoracic diaphragm (33.82%)
were identified most commonly. Statistically significant correlations can be
suspected between hemorrhoids and tocolytics; perineum troubles and perineal
injuries; pelvic dysfunctions and drug-induced labor; pelvic floor dysfunctions
and perineal tears or episiotomies.

Conclusion: The overview of maternal
complaints postpartum partially corresponded with results of previous studies.
Somatic dysfunctions partially supported existing osteopathic models. Due to
multiple testing the results only allow the assumption of statistically
significant correlations. The analysis reflects the individuality of the women
and their specific compensatory mechanisms postpartum.
