Hintergrund:
In der Literatur ließ
sich keine Anleitung bzw. Studie finden zur osteopathischen Behandlung einer
Lungensarkoidose. Diese Studie basiert auf folgender Studie: "Lebensqualität
bei Lungensarkoidose- Deutsche Studie 1997".
Methoden: Die
Primären Zielparameter waren Lebensqualität und Angstbefinden. Diese wurden
mittels 2 validierten Fragebögen " SF-36 Health Survey" und "State-Trait-Angst-Inventar
(STAI-S/STAI-T)" erhoben. Während der
dreiwöchigen Baselinephase wurden die Fragebögen zweimal wöchentlich
ausgefüllt. Danach erfolgte die dreiwöchige Interventionsphase, in der die
Behandlungen zweimal wöchentlich stattfanden. Anschliessend folgt eine
behandlungsfreie Zeit.
Ergebnisse: Trotz
der geringen Fallzahl zeigt die Studie statistisch signifikante und klinisch
relevante Verbesserungen für die Lebensqualität und das Angstbefinden. Die
Angst Ausprägungen sind von maximaler Ausprägung zirka 70 auf Werte von <50
gesunken. Auch die Lebensqualität hat sich in fast allen acht Dimensionen durch
die Behandlung positiv entwickelt. Während sich die sieben Dimensionen
"physical functioning", "role limitations due to physical health", "role
limitations due to emotional problems", "energy/fatigue", "social functioning",
"pain" und "general health" signifikant verbessert haben, so ist lediglich die
Dimension "emotional well being" etwas schlechter geworden.
Schlussfolgerung:
Die osteopathischen Behandlungen führten zu statistische
signifikanten und klinisch relevanten positiven Veränderungen der
gesundheitsbezogenen Lebensqualität und des Angstbefindens bei einer Patientin
mit einer chronischen Lungensarkoidose.

Objective

Studydesign:
Single subject design in an "A-B-A" Design
Background: Literature
did not show any instruction in relation to an osteopathic treatment of a lung
sarcoidosis.The present study is base on the study from 1997: " Quality of life
with sarcoidosis - A german study from 1997".
Methods:Primary
parameters of the present study were "quality of life" and "state of
anxiety".These were collected by two validated questionnaires: "SF-36" and
"STAI-S/STAI-T". During the "Baselinephase" which lasted three weeks, these
questionnaires have been filled in twice a week. Subsequently, the "Interventionphase"
took place which lasted three weeks and during which the treatment occured
twice a week, fallowed by a period without any treatment.
Results: Despite
the limited number of case, the study shows statistically significant and
clinically relevant improvements in quality of life and state of anxiety. The
occurence of anxiety, has been reduced
from a maximal occurrence (around 70) to values of <50. Additionally, the
quality of life has positively evolved in almost all eight dimensions due to the treatment. While
the seven dimensions "physical functioning", "role limitations due to physical
health", "role limitations due to emotional problems", "energy/fatigue",
"social functioning", "pain" and "general health" have improved significantly,
only the dimension "emotional well being" has degraded.
Conclusion: The osteopathic treatments, carried out twice a week within
a period of three weeks, resulted in statistically significant and clinically
relevant improvements of the health-related quality of life and the state of
anxiety of a patient with a chronic lung-sarcoidosis.
