- Zweck der Studie:Das Ziel der Studie ist, Faktoren zu identifizieren, die Einfluss auf die subjektive Befindlichkeit der PatientInnen während einer osteopathischen Therapie haben. Es sollen jene Faktoren gefiltert werden, die durch die OsteopathInnen aktiv veränderbar sind.Studiendesign:Leitfadengestützte, nicht-standardisierte Interviews mithalb-strukturierten und offenen Fragen.Methodik:Interviews mit 13 PatientInnen im Alter zwischen 24 und 80 Jahren, die zumindest ein Mal in Österreich osteopathisch behandelt wurden. Die Interviews wurden mittels Qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring (2003) analysiert.Ergebnisse:Kommunikation mit den OsteopathInnen steht für PatientInnen im Zentrum der Interaktion. Sie kann sich sowohl positiv als auch negativ auf die Befindlichkeit der PatientInnen auswirken. Positiv wird der Aufbau einer Beziehung und der Einsatz für eine gute Aufklärung bewertet. Negativ wird die Befindlichkeit durch fehlende Empathie seitens der OsteopathInnen beeinflusst, wenn diese die persönlichen Grenzen der PatientInnen nicht wahrnehmen. Räumliche und organisatorische Faktoren stehen für PatientInnen im Hintergrund.Diskussion:Ein steigendes wissenschaftliches Interesse an der Befindlichkeit von PatientInnen während der osteopathischen Behandlung ist von großem Nutzen für den therapeutischen Alltag. Durch Anpassung der Behandlungen an die subjektiven Bedürfnisse der Menschen kann die Zufriedenheit mit der Therapie verbessert werden, was ein zusätzliches Potential für die Aktivierung der Selbstheilungskräfte birgt.

- Objective:The aim of the study is to identify factors that influence the subjective well-being of patients during osteopathic treatment. The purpose is to analyze those factors that can be actively influenced by osteopaths.Study design:Guided, non-standardized interviews with semi-structured and open questions.Method:Interviews with 13 patients between the age of 24 and 80, who were treated in Austria osteopathically at least once. The interview analysis is done by using the Qualitative Content Analysis based on Mayring (2003).Results:Communication with the osteopaths is at the center of the interaction with the patients. This can have a positive as well as a negative effect on the patient's well-being. On the positive side there is the building of a relationship and the commitment to good education through communication. On the negative side, the emotional state can be influenced by a lack of empathy on the part of the osteopaths when they do not perceive the personal limits of the patients. Spatial and organizational factors are not the main focus of the patients.Discussion:An increasing scientific interest in the well-being of the patients during the osteopathic treatment is of great benefit for the therapeutic procedure. By adapting the treatment to the subjective needs of people, the satisfaction with the therapy can be improved. This has an additional potential for activating the self-healing powers.
