- de HintergrundSeit über 100 Jahren wird in zahlreichen anatomischen Lehrbüchern die Fortsetzung der rechten und linken Vena (V.) lumbalis ascendens in die V. azygos bzw. V. hemiazygos beschrieben. Ziel dieser Studie ist es, den Ursprung der V. (hemi-)azygos und deren Durchtritt durch das Zwerchfell zu analysieren und die teilweise widersprüchlichen Angaben zu klären. Für Osteopath*innen ist korrektes anatomisches Wissen essenziell. MethodikDie Fragestellungen wurden anhand makroskopisch-anatomischer Präparation an 20 Formalin-fixierten Körperspender*innen beantwortet. Dabei wurden eine Distanzmessung und ein Geschlechtervergleich durchgeführt. Ergebnisse Die V. azygos entstammte stets (100 %) aus einer dorsalen und ventralen Wurzel. Die dorsale Wurzel bestand immer (100 %) aus der Vereinigung der V. lumbalis ascendens dextra mit der V. subcostalis dextra. Die V. azygos lumbalis verlief entweder ausschließlich durch den Hiatus aorticus (50 %), in Form zweier Äste durch den medialen Lumbalspalt und den Hiatus aorticus (30 %) oder nur durch den medialen Lumbalspalt (20 %) des Zwerchfells. Auch die V. hemiazygos entstand meist (85 %) aus einer dorsalen und ventralen Wurzel. Die dorsale Wurzel wurde fast immer (95 %) aus der Vereinigung der V. lumbales ascendens sinistra mit der V. subcostalis sinistra gebildet. Die V. hemiazygos lumbalis passierte das Zwerchfell entweder ausschließlich durch den medialen Lumbalspalt (47 %), nur durch den Hiatus aorticus (32 %) oder in Form zweier parallel verlaufender Äste durch den medialen Lumbalspalt und den Hiatus aorticus (21 %). Die Distanz der V. lumbalis ascendens zur V. azygos lag im Durchschnitt bei 4,2 cm und zur V. hemiazygos bei 3,8 cm. SchlussfolgerungDie V. azygos und V. hemiazygos entstammen fast immer einer dorsalen und ventralen Wurzel. Die Lage der Vv. lumbales ascendentes dextra et sinistra sowie der V. azygos und V. hemiazygos in unterschiedlichen anatomischen Schichten schließt eine direkte Fortsetzung dieser Venen aus.

- en BackgroundFor over 100 years numerous anatomical textbooks have described the continuation of the right and left ascending lumbar vein into the azygos and hemiazygos vein. The aim of this study is to analyze the origin of the azygos and hemiazygos vein and their passage through the diaphragm and to clarify the partially contradictory statements. For osteopaths is a correct anatomical knowledge essential. MethodsThe questions were answered with an anatomical macroscopically dissection of 20 formalin-fixed human body donators. Additionally, a distance measurement and a gender comparison were carried out. ResultsThe azygos vein constantly (100%) arosed from a dorsal and ventral root. The dorsal root formed always (100%) by the union of the right ascending lumbar vein with the right subcostal vein. The lumbar azygos vein passed either exclusively through the aortic hiatus (50%), being bipartite through the right crus of the diaphragm and the hiatus aorticus (30%) or only through the right diaphragmatic crus (20%). The hemiazygos vein also mainly (85%) originated from a dorsal and ventral root. The dorsal root was almost always (95%) formed by the union of the left ascending lumbar vein with the left subcostal vein. The lumbar hemiazygos vein passed through the diaphragm either exclusively through the left diaphragmatic crus (47%), only through the aortic hiatus (32%), or as two branches through the diaphragmatic crus and the aortic hiatus (21%) simultaneously. The distance from the ascending lumbar vein to the azygos vein was on average 4.2 cm and to the hemiazygos vein 3.8 cm. ConclusionThe azygos and hemiazygos veins almost always arose from a dorsal and ventral root. The location of the right and left ascending lumbar vein and the azygos and hemiazygos vein in different anatomical layers excludes a direct continuation of these veins.
